Stage 2 of the Industrial Estate
9 June, 2010
At this week’s Council meeting, a tender was awarded for the landscaping and planting of the Wesley Hill Industrial Estate. Recoland will undertake landscaping work as part of the final stages of the construction of Stage 2 of the Estate.
The landscape works will consist of planting trees, shrubs, climbers and some groundcovers. Council assures us that effort has been made to ensure that the plants for this revegetation have been grown from seeds of local provenance, that is, from the region with similar environmental conditions such as geology and rainfall.
The works include a landscaped buffer plantation between the industrial estate and and the rear of residences in McGrath and Prendergast streets in Wesley Hill. The other area is the water garden which is a feature of the development where storm water will be treated on-site in an attractive landscaped setting.
The project has involved road building, connecting services and a subdivision that includes 14 lots of serviced industrial land. The final stage of the project involves building a road pavement in Wallace Street and intersection works on the Pyrenees Highway to improve access to the estate and the Loddon Prison. Works will be undertaken in the coming months.
Travellers passing the site by train in particular will notice that the estate has recently taken form, with the construction of kerb and channelling and the installation of services now completed. The road pavement will be completed in June. Removal of gorse and other weeds and the levelling of the land to better prepare for development has also been undertaken in the last two months.
With construction close to finalisation, lots will soon be available for purchase. Waller Realty have been appointed to market and sell the land. Interested parties are invited to contact Rob Waller on 0418 571 130.
