Enough is enough

Pokies are everywhere: they’re worse than Reds under the bed in the 1960s, because they’re actually there.

In Castlemaine, a meeting has been called to discuss what is being proposed for the Kennedy St Goods Shed.

Don’t expect any councillors to be there. That’s the night of the next council meeting. Seeing council will eventually decide if we get pokies or not (hope not) it might have been smarter to have a different date.

(It may not be up to Council. It may go to VCAT – ed)

Can NOT stand these damn awful things, hope there’s some commonsense shown and there’s a ban on further pokies.

Do not let these machines in your community there is nothing good about them.

The money that is said to go back into the community is a lie as these machines destroy communities they don’t build them up.

Gamblers lie about what they spend and this effects husbands, wives, children , mothers ,fathers and businesses.

The comments on creating jobs yeah low paid jobs as the machine owners reap the rewards.

Good on you for putting up a fight I hope you as a community are successful for everyones sake.

I say no machines anywhere in Australia, I hate them and know many others who do as well.
I’ve talked to people in gaming venues who have lost thousands in a matter of a few hours, money they couldn’t afford to lose and they are devastated, many of these people meant to only spend $50 $100 dollars.

Don’t give up, fight to the end Castlemaine.
