Online purchasing
Here at CI we use lean, automated systems, which gives us time to work on stories and engage with our readers and community.
For payments in the self-serve classifieds and the CI store, we use the online PayPal system, because it is widely used, and secure.
We pay for this service – PayPal take a small percentage from each transaction before it reaches our account. You can use this system whether you have a PayPal account or not – major credit cards are accepted and payments are processed online.
Online transactions and e-commerce are now common. PayPal has been in operation since 2000. Those familiar with Ebay will know of PayPal or even have an account. CI uses PayPal because of its usability and relatively small cost to us for a low volume payment gateway.
Classified Advertising
At the bottom of the ‘place ad’ screen you select one of the paid ad options (three periods with 2 or 4 images) Once the forms are filled click ‘continue’ at the bottom, the next screen will ask you for images to upload.
After that you will be taken to the PayPal system. If you don’t have a PayPal account, click ‘continue‘ under ‘don’t have a paypal account’ to pay by credit card. There is no charge to you. PayPal takes a small percentage from CI’s account per transaction.
The Classifieds are fully automated and operated by you, the user, so the inbuilt payment system is the only option.
Terms and conditions – CI reserves the right to refuse approval for offensive or inappropriate material submitted for our Classifieds. Be nice! We won’t spend a lot of time working out how to refund obscene ads or ads for inappropriate products.

Our Store
CI Store has a shopping-cart set up, where you select the items you wish to buy and then proceed to check out and pay via the Paypal system again.
In the CI store other methods of payment are available – posting a cheque or direct debit. Please contact us to arrange one of these options.

Privacy policy - no personal identification information is given away, shared, or used for any other purposes than those of transactions directly with CI.
Delivery details and times – physical items will be sent by post the next working day after we receive payment. For major centres in Australia delivery can be expected within a week. Classified ads are generally approved within 12 hours. The listing period starts from the date of approval. If you’re overseas we’ll post it to you, but it may take time!
