Deanna Neville’s work in Fed Square
Deanna writes: Andrew Chapman, Captain of the Walmer Fire Brigade, of which I have recently become a probationary member! Can’t wait to get into my yellows and jump on a truck! This particular banner will be featured as part of the BMW Edge theatrette installation at Fed Square, where the guided tours will include symposium talks from artists and people who work with fire, a selection of films made of the projects and the unveiling of this particular photo banner by brigade members from our local group. All of the landowners were once active fire fighters and now as the demographics change it is the community of retirees, tree changers, young families and hobby farmers that they are additionally supporting. So the brigades are now made up of members that include people like me.
From June 29–July 3, Melbourne’s Fed Square will be transformed by some of Victoria’s most gifted regional artists and their communities. As par...
