Voices of the Future – Castlemaine sings!

Recording at Olivet

This project is about every single student having the opportunity to hear themselves singing on their own radio station.

Voices of the Future is an exciting new project reaching out across the airwaves and cyberspace, taking the voices of young Castlemaine students out into the big wide world. Arabella Davison first broadcast Voices of the Future in mid August on her WMAfm program Mother’s Little Helper.

‘I was so thrilled, I was crying in the studio,’ Arabella said recently.

‘It’s not about a perfect performance, or brilliant editing, or even the greatest music students. This project is about every single student having the opportunity to hear themselves singing on their own radio station.

‘For families and teachers to celebrate an everyday achievement, for kids to get a big kick out of doing what they do on a normal day at school. Our community radio station is here to reflect the diversity of Castlemaine, and the young people are such an important part of that.

‘I hope this project will inspire kids and teachers to sing sing SING!! even more, and for young people to start looking towards WMA fm and how they want to be a part of our community radio’s future.’
